Join our 30-class course to bring basic culinary education to Belize

This hands-on program will teach professional techniques beginning with the basics – including Sautéing, Braising, Roasting, Grilling and the Secrets of Egg Cooking, moving on to more specialized skills as the program progresses.

Introduction to SPICE

San Pedro Institute of Culinary Education (SPICE) is an initiative created to bring basic culinary education to the island. We are combining the expertise of Holy Cross Anglican School and Gaynor’s School of Cooking to offer a part time 30-class course. Our first class, held at Holy Cross Anglican School, was highly successful with all 10 students graduating in December 2024 and gainfully employed.

Kristen Newton, Owner of the Someplace South restaurant in San Pedro, a sponsor of our first course, perhaps said it best: “The fact that all 10 students did not miss a class in completing the course is a testament to the desire and need for this training and the quality of instruction. A huge success!”
